As For God … His Way Is Perfect

Ben and Becca Logue, His Way Is Perfect

Today I share a beautiful new song by a dear friend, His Way Is Perfect. I encourage you to take the four minutes to listen to it and read through the lyrics. There are many of you who read this blog who are in tough circumstances. This song helps you reconsider God’s character, plan, and provision for you while you walk your own journey.

As you listen, consider their story. Ben and Becca are parents to three children, two of whom developed Late-Infantile Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis. Most recently, their oldest son Philip died from this disease. As you enjoy this song and consider these lyrics, please take a moment to pray for my friends.

As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him. (Ps 18:30)

His Way Is Perfect

Esther was a captive Jewish maid.
Living life in Persia were not plans the Jews had made.
She had lost her mother, father, lost everything.
She was chosen to be a bride for a sinful, pagan king.
Esther could have dwelt on all she missed,
But God chose her devotion for “such a time as this.”

Chorus
As for God, His way is perfect.
Though you’ve trod a path you never thought you’d see,
But as you walk it, He is working
Out a plan that will span all of eternity.

You and I are on this journey of life.
If we could choose our way, we never would choose strife.
But God knows in the easy times we may drift away from Him.
He always knows what’s best for us,
Knows the beginning from the end.
When your way looks different than you planned,
Trust our loving Father.
He wants to use you and He can.

Chorus

Think of David who didn’t know He would be king.
Think of Job who lost everything.
Think of Joseph who was mistreated and despised.
Think of Mary who watched her Son crucified.
They didn’t know from their point of view
What God in His sovereignty was going to do.
Maybe you find yourself in that same place.
Remember these words as you seek the Father’s face:

Chorus

Keep on walking; He is working
Out His plan that will span all of eternity.

The Logue Family Story and Blog

If you have a few more minutes, let me introduce you to her, her family, and their story. On their family blog, they write:

We are Ben and Becca Logue. God has given us 3 children: Philip, Joyanna, and Ethan. Because of the ongoing medical issues Philip and Joyanna have (see their individual stories by using the tabs above), we maintain this site to communicate with friends and family the journey God has us on. Knowing that God is the only One who can give us the grace and strength for each day, we would solicit your prayers for our family as we walk this road, but we also desire to demonstrate how God has taken care of us every step of the way.

Our goal for all 3 of our kids is the same–to raise them to accomplish the purpose God has for their lives. What God has for Philip and Joyanna may come about in a little different way than some kids, but our end desire is for them to glorify God in their lives.

I would encourage you to check out their family blog, read their testimonies, look at their sweet pictures, and be encouraged in their God.

May God receive the glory as they continue to walk down this road of suffering in ways that bless others.
