Do you feel lonely? You Are NOT Alone (1-Minute Mondays)

Ever feel alone? Like you are by yourself? Maybe you are in a tough situation or a seemingly impossible circumstance today. Because of the weight and fog of the situation, it is easy to feel alone. It may even be unwise to share your circumstances with others, which can make the sense of loneliness seem even greater. For some, possibly you have shared it and have been ignored, misunderstood, or shunned.

For the Christ-follower, even in the midst of the hardest circumstances and situations, you are not alone. In fact, it is even better than just not being alone. God pays attention and listens intently.

God hears and God sees.

As Peter helps his readers strive to honor God in a hostile world, he points people to Psalm 34 as a means of encouragement. He writes,

12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
(1 Peter 3:12)

Just as David wrote centuries before, Peter echoed the words that remind you, you are not alone. As a follower of Christ, God’s eyes are on you. God’s ears are open to your prayers. God’s face is against those who do evil toward you.

I am always amazed how a mom can hear the voice of her child cry out from the midst of many children. Often in the middle of the night a mom hears every sound from her children and responds. If this is true for moms, imagine how much more true it is when the Bible says that God’s ears are open to you.

Responding to God’s Presence

As you begin your day and week, remind yourself that God is with you. Talk with God. As you think about, face, and interact with your various pressures, talk to God who is with you, watches you, and listens to you. No matter what you face today, you are not alone.
