Brazil Missions Trip – Will You Pray?

Brazil. Today begins the first day that I speak here in Brazil. I left to come down here this past Thursday and have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with veteran missionaries over the past two days. At this point, we have experienced good conversation, some sightseeing, and getting our body adjusted to the new location for the week.

The Importance of Biblical Counseling and People’s Needs

As everywhere, Brazil needs biblical counseling and personal ministry. Since arriving, I have observed a country steeped in spiritism and idolatry. I have listened to chants calling spirits and dancing along with the ritual. As well, we made a lengthy visit near here where we watched the hopelessness of people steeped in idolatry. In addition, I accompanied my missionary friends to a viewing of a neighbor’s body as we got our day started. Here in Brazil once one dies, the viewing and funeral all take place within twenty-four hours.

I share those experiences to just remind you that the gospel need is great here. The Brazilian people are friendly. Their Portuguese may be a bit much for these hearing-impaired ears of mine but I am enjoying trying to communicate with them. There is immediate camaraderie with those who know the Lord. The burden is great for those who do not.

People here need the life-changing message of the gospel. Beginning today through Friday, I speak in two different venues. Today, I preach at a local church. Tomorrow through Friday I speak at a large counseling conference.

Please Pray with Me

Would you please pray for this trip and my responsibilities to help our fellow brothers and sisters-in-Christ here in Brazil?

Please pray that…
