Items of Interest…UT, a Little Mercy, a 4th Grade Boy, and Tears!

I love these three articles which all explain the story of a bullied fourth grade boy in Florida. In fact, as I tried to read the story to my daughter and show her the pictures, I started crying. This is a great story of kindness, generosity, and love of neighbor. No doubt the teacher demonstrates what it means to serve her students well.

The articles are in order. You will not believe the events as they shook out. In the first article, you get the general story line. In the second, there is an attached video from the school to the student. In the third article, it explains how this has come full circle. The boy not only has an official shirt with his design, he also has four-year scholarship waiting on him from the University.

Way to go University of Tennessee Vols!

In this article from a Knoxville news channel, you will find a great and short video from the UT mascot Smokey to the boy. This is a great article and the one I cried trying to read to Kara. (Read More)

Bullied boy is getting more than his shirt design printed – Tennessee just offered him a scholarship

The story even gets more exciting. Tennessee has offered him a full tuition and fees scholarship whenever he gets out of school as long as he meets admissions requirements. “A fourth-grade Florida boy bullied over his homemade shirt supporting the University of Tennessee could become a Volunteer himself after the university announced Thursday that it is offering him admission and a four-year scholarship.” (Read More and Read More)
