Whatever your need today, whatever your concerns, whatever your burdens, you may need this simple reminder.
God knows everything, owns everything, and intimately knows your needs as well.
God Owns Everything
Whenever you have a need, a reminder of the resources available is always helpful. Consider these words:
7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak…
I am God, your God!
…
10 For every beast of the forest is Mine,
And the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know all the birds of the mountains,
And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. (Psalm 50:7-11)
You may need to read it again. Truth helps us. This text makes a truth claim that penetrates through the darkness of need. God owns it all. No matter what you need, God is able to meet your need according to His will. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills.
God Knows Your Need
When Jesus taught the disciples the model prayer, He introduced it with the following words:
8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. (Matthew 6:8)
God knows.
Your need is not unknown. God graciously and mercifully knows and acts in light of what He knows.
We could fill a blog with Bible verses that teach this wonderful truth. For starters, just read Psalm 139.
God Listens Carefully to You Because He Does Care
God love you. He knows you. He listens to you.
Consider how God’s care and concern are celebrated in Psalm 56:
8 You number my wanderings;
Put my tears into Your bottle;
Are they not in Your book?
9 When I cry out to You,
Then my enemies will turn back;
This I know, because God is for me.
10 In God (I will praise His word),
In the Lord (I will praise His word),
11 In God I have put my trust;
I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me? (Psalm 56:8-11)
God knows your path. He knows everything about your path. God knows your need.
When you cry out to Him regarding your need, He mercifully listens and carefully holds your cares tightly.
Trust, Cry Out, and Believe
Regardless of what your need is today, stop and rejoice in truth. What do we know?
God knows you.
God knows your concerns.
God listens to your concerns when you cry out.
God answers you according to His will.
Although the answer is not always as you wish it were, you can have faith that God knows, cares, and remains covenant faithful to you in the midst of your greatest concern and need.
And, just in case you need this reminder today as well…God Who is Rich in mercy dealt with your greatest need providing you life in Christ both now and forever (Eph 2:1-10)!
