National Sanctity of Life Day
On this anniversary of Roe v. Wade, President Trump proclaimed today National Sanctity of Life Day. This is a special day not only because we value young children and their lives, but also because we value our oldest citizens as well. We celebrate life as a gift from God.
Some Key Biblical Texts
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27).
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward” (Psalm 127:3).
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them” (Psalm 139:13-16).
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
“Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me” (Isaiah 49:16).
“Did not he who made me in the womb make him? And did not one fashion us in the womb?” (Job 31:15)
