Who sings or says it better? In your life, do you do a better job praising the Lord with your words, songs, and lifestyle or do the heavens, rocks, and hills do a better job praising the Lord?

I know what the answer should be…but is it?

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God

The Bible is clear that the heavens declare the glory of God. Notice how the psalmist puts it:

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.
In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,

Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
Its rising is from one end of heaven,
And its circuit to the other end;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat. (Psalm 19:1-6)

In fact, when Jesus riding into Jerusalem, known as the Triumphal Entry, the Pharisees told Jesus to tell the crowds to quit recognizing Him as the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Jesus’ response:

40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” (Luke 19:40)

A simple thought… the heavens faithfully declare the glory of God.

What about you?

As followers of Christ, we too are to constantly live, speak, and sing to the glory of God. Notice these key texts:

31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, (Ephesians 4:19)

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Colossians 3:16-17)

1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lordis good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations. (Psalm 100)

Did you notice what all of these passages were teaching? As followers of Christ, we also should be living, speaking, and singing for the glory of God.

Who sings or says it better?

What about your life? Your words? Your music?

Who sings or says it better?

Do the rocks, hills, valleys, and heavens do a better job praising God or do you in your living, speaking, and singing?

Great challenge to start a new week.
