Don’t Miss Thanksgiving On Way Toward Christmas (#OneMinuteMondays)

Christmas begins in full-swing for many people today. November 1st. Halloween ends and Christmas begins – at least that is the case at Silver Dollar City after they take a week off for decorating. And, I say, “Perfect!” I’m happy for you. In fact, don’t take me negative. For many, Christmas is a time of year where they are a bit more festive, upbeat, and get all the feels. Again, Perfect. But, whoever you are, as you go, don’t miss Thanksgiving on way toward Christmas.

November Is a Good Time to Stress Gratitude

I love November because of the gratitude we can intentionally show. As we inch daily toward Thanksgiving, we are reminded of all the things for which we can be thankful. And. There. Are. So. Many.

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving (Colossians 2:6-7).

As we walk in the Spirit, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Ephesians 5:20).

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations. (Psalm 100:4-5)

Aren’t these incredible verses? In each one, we are commended to have a heart full of gratitude as we walk with the Lord.

If You Enjoy Christmas and Begin to Celebrate Today, Good for You!

Just Don’t Miss Thanksgiving On Way Toward Christmas

If you are one who enjoys Christmas so much and begins to celebrate the season today, good for you. My encouragement for all of us is not “don’t begin celebrating Christmas.” Instead, I simply wanted to remind you to not miss Thanksgiving on the way. We have so much for which we can intentionally be thankful. Loads of it – including getting to celebrate the Christmas season as well.

Have a great day, week, and month as you celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas as a grateful person.
