What Do You Do the Day after Resurrection Sunday? #OneMinuteMondays

What Do You Do the Day after Resurrection Sunday?

What do you do the day after yesterday when we celebrated the Resurrection all over the world. Some choose to call it Resurrection Sunday and others Easter.

The Significance of Resurrection Sunday/Easter

Whichever name for yesterday you choose, on this day, Christians celebrate the greatest day in human history – death is defeated, the payment of Jesus on the cross accepted, and Jesus lives. Without the resurrection, Christians would be as all other religions in the world. Jesus alone not only claimed that He would rise again, but did. He alone met with hundreds, engaged people after the resurrection, and demonstrated how all the Scriptures pointed to the reality of His life, death, and ultimate resurrection. Thousands and thousands began following Him in the months after His resurrection. There is no other person in history, nor any other religion, that boasts such great things.

To one degree or another, Christians celebrate the resurrection every Sunday when we meet on the first day of the week. However, Resurrection Sunday/Easter focuses all our attention on this special day at one time. It’s a glorious celebration indeed. We realize that all our hope comes down to this one event. You hear people reflect on the words from the Scriptures, “He is risen!” “He is risen, indeed!”

All our hope comes down to the reality of the resurrection. As the songwriter put it, “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow…”

How Does Yesterday’s Celebration Impact Your Today?

What do we do today? How does our celebration yesterday impact us right now? in this hour? throughout our day?

Let me suggest four specific responses for your day ahead…

With these things in mind, go forth today choosing to love God supremely and love your neighbors sincerely. The resurrection should not simply change your future and provide you future hope, it should change the way you live today.
