Yesterday, I preached from Psalm 19 where the psalmist explains the heavens declare the glory of God. But, have you considered the bees? What else have you considered as well?

David declares that the heavens speak a universal language of the glory of God. In other words, the heavens – regardless of where you live on the earth or what language you speak – testify daily to the power of God and the divine Godhead (Psalm 19:1-6; cf., Rom 1:18-21).

The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world. (Psalm 19:1-4a)

The universal language of the glory of God is spoken by the heavens. Further, David specifically calls out the sun (Ps 19:4-6). Here, David explains that any person who has ever experienced the heat of the sun receives this revelation of God to them.

Universal.

Back to the bees or something else like them…

The universal language of the glory of God is spoken by the heavens, in this text, especially the sun.

What about local dialects?

Let me suggest that the heaven is not the only thing declaring the glory of God. So also do bees. Not just bees, though, but so do trees, plants, animals, bugs, and the entire eco system – just to get started.

The glory of God gets expressed through creation. In some places, it will look like bees. In other places, the glory of God gets expressed in unique bugs, weather patterns, animals, and so much more.

The Bible does not specifically mention all those other areas of creation that speak the glory of God, I believe, because they are local. People in a certain region see various manifestations of the glory of God that are unique to them in their region.

You cannot study bees without seeing the glory of God – around the Ozarks. However, there were no native bees to Alaska. Yet, the glory of God is seen in so many other ways in Alaska (picture of Kyler below in Alaska recently).

In other words, the local manifestation of the glory of God differs from place to place and continent to continent.

What are you going to do today and this week?

Will you take time today and this week to intentionally consider the glory of God in the sun, moon (strawberry moon this week in the Ozarks), and stars?

Further, will you look locally where you are at to see and hear what else also proclaims the glory of God in your local dialect? In creation, there is something. Find that thing and honor God in it.
