Several have been sending notes and asking how my trip to Brazil went. Let me share some pictures with you today. I rejoice in our time there with many friends from ABCB (ASSOCIAÇÃO BRASILEIRA DE CONSELHEIROS BÍBLICOS). The Association of Brazilian Biblical Counselors is a training and certifying organization for biblical counselors. Biblical counselors come from all over the country to be part of this annual conference. I had the privilege of speaking there in 2019 as well.
Highlights
Regarding ministry, I spoke a total of 11 times and participated in Question and Answer times. I was privileged to primarily have Patrick McClure as my translator. He has been a Baptist Bible Fellowship International missionary to Brazil for nearly two decades. Having grown up there in Brazil, his Portuguese is excellent and he is one of the best translators I know. It is always a joy to spend time with him, Ann Janel, and their children. Not only is the fellowship sweet, but they make sure that all my needs are met while I am in the country.
This year Nicolas and Vanessa Ellen were also in attendance to speak. As dear friends, we enjoyed out time together too. After traveling from various churches on Sunday together, we got out on Monday morning before the conference started to visit the local cities around Águas de Lindoia. We visited a Catholic church and a very famous pottery company in Brazil. We enjoyed ourselves together. Leonardo and Gi were our host as we traveled around the countryside.
Pastor Flavio and Sacha Mendes, along with so many others, continue to build a great work for the Lord in Brazil. We rejoice in our time with them and seeing how God is using them to help grow believers in the faith, see people saved, and help train biblical counselors.
Here are some picture highlights! I’ll add some more pictures as they are sent to me.
I’m so grateful for our time together there with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
