There is great news for you if you are suffering! Don’t you need some? When in the midst of suffering, many times I would just like to know it is going to work out. I want to know that. Can someone, anyone, tell me it will work out? I want a word of hope.

That’s where there is good news. Although I don’t know exactly the problem you are dealing with today or the extent of your suffering, I still have good news for you. God is working in the midst of your suffering. You can trust His plan. God has your best interest at heart. He knows and cares about you, about your suffering, about what you’re concerned, and about the outcome. Your circumstance did not catch God off guard.

Blessed for Your Endurance

As Pastor James, the first pastor of the church of Jerusalem, encourages all those he loves who are in the midst of incredible persecution, he reminds them:

10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. 11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. (James 5:10-11)

As James seeks to provide the maximum level of comfort for those going through incredible pressure and suffering, he provided us key information about God and His plan – which includes our suffering.

The End is Better as Intended by the Lord.

Whatever suffering you are in today, there are two key things to remember. Here’s the good news!

First, God’s plan promises blessing if you will endure. You will be blessed.

Second, while in the suffering, you must remember that God is very compassionate and merciful. You can trust His plan and purpose for your trial.

Regardless of your trial, there is great news. God has an intended purpose that includes your good.
