Kevin grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the son of a pastor and often says “it has been my privilege to have lived my entire life in and around church.” In 1990 Kevin moved to Springfield, Missouri to attend Baptist Bible College. There he met his wife Kelly and was married in 1994. Shortly thereafter, he started working as the senior adult pastor at Cherry Street Baptist Church. It was in that ministry where Kelly and Kevin first started talking about planting a church. They are thrilled God brought a team together with them to start Sonrise in 2002.

Kevin also started teaching as a faculty member of Baptist Bible Theological Seminary, Springfield, Missouri, in 1999 (now Mission University). Kevin also serves as a member of the Ozark Rotary Cub. In the process of all this, God has given Kevin and Kelly four children, a son-in-law, and a grandson. In his spare time Kevin enjoys family, sports, fishing, hunting, and writing.

The hope is that this blog will serve as an encouragement to you and a challenge to walk in godliness. We are committed to walking together through life as friends in Christ sharing wisdom along the journey.

“What a thrill to serve Christ and the fellow members of Sonrise
in the beautiful Ozarks.”

About this Blog

I’m often asked why I created the blog and take time to “feed” it. Simple reasons … I want to enjoy living for Christ and walking together with you in Christ. As a pastor and biblical counselor, I love glorifying God in life with other people who also follow Christ. So the blog addresses issues related to every day living such as family, culture, faith, people who need care, people who give care, and personal growth. I write as a friend, neighbor, pastor, and counselor.

KevinCarson.com is a blog dedicated to providing biblically sound guidance and encouragement for those navigating life’s complexities. The primary purpose of the blog is to share insights and counsel rooted in Scripture, helping readers grow in their faith, and apply biblical principles to everyday situations. The blog covers a wide range of topics, including personal struggles, family dynamics, and broader societal issues, always pointing readers back to the timeless truths of God’s Word.

The primary goals of KevinCarson.com are:

  • Encouragement and Support: To offer hope and encouragement through the teachings of the Bible, reminding readers of God’s love and faithfulness.
  • Biblical Wisdom: To provide practical advice and counsel based on biblical principles, helping readers make wise decisions in their personal and professional lives.
  • Spiritual Growth: To foster spiritual growth by encouraging readers to deepen their relationship with Christ and live out their faith in tangible ways.
  • Community Impact: To impact the greater communities in which reader’s live where followers of Christ can live out loving God supremely and loving each other sincerely.
  • Respect and Compassion of Jesus Christ: To embody the compassion of Jesus Christ in interactions with the reader in the posts and comments, with the hope that the readers will also extend this same compassion to one another.

A guiding biblical text for all interactions on the KevinCarson.com is:

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Col 3:12-17).

Support

Until a few years ago, my family had been the sole sponsor of KevinCarson.com. However, the costs for a blog build over time as internet security, delivery systems, storage space, and many other costs grow. The cost of providing a website changes and grows over time like everything else. When talking to a fellow blogger, he suggested I allow those who desire to share the cost of this writing ministry as a patron on Patreon. Learn more here.

For those who desire to give a one-time gift, you can give through Venmo (@Dr-Kevin-Carson) or Paypal (link). You can always mail a gift as well (Dr. Kevin Carson, 221 Garner Dr, Ozark, MO 65721).

Please, all of you pray that God provides me wisdom along the path as I write, opportunities for this blog to get into places where just the right person who needs to read it gets to see it, and additional spiritual fruit. I am so blessed by the feedback I receive regularly how something written has been just the right word at the right time to help another person change, be encouraged, or persevere for the glory of God.
