Thank you for your interest in having Dr. Kevin Carson speak at your church or event. Dr. Carson is available a certain number of dates per year. On this page, we have conveniently assembled common information that is often requested. Dr. Carson will let you know if he is able to accept your invitation as soon as possible.
Travel Schedule
Dr. Carson’s normal traveling and speaking format is travel on Friday morning or afternoon, speak Friday evening, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon, and return home Saturday afternoon/early evening. Because of his pastoral work at Sonrise, he accepts Sunday morning speaking events on an extremely limited basis.

Booking Flights and Rental Cars
Usually all arrangements for flights are made by Dr. Carson or his assistant and then reimbursed by the church or event. Dr. Carson travels from the Springfield, MO airport (airport code: SGF). If flying in to your event, Dr. Carson almost never needs a rental car. Sometimes his hosts find it necessary to rent a car on his behalf so he can drive from the airport to their distant locale.
The only time Dr. Carson needs a rental car is when he is driving to the event, rather than flying. He prefers to drive when the event is within a five-hour or so drive from Ozark, Missouri. With rental costs and fuel reimbursement, the cost to the host church or organization is less than if Dr. Carson drove his own vehicle and received reimbursement at the current IRS mileage rate. Occasionally, depending upon specific circumstances, he has a driver travel with him, which means the driver would need to stay in a separate room.
Lodging
Arrangements should be made by the host ahead of time and communicated to Dr. Carson regarding lodging. Dr. Carson seems to minister best by staying in a private, non-smoking hotel room. However, Dr. Carson is certainly willing to stay in a home if necessary. Lodging can be worked out before the event.
Food Requests
In general, Dr. Carson is not at all picky about types of food he eats – nothing specific.
Free Time
During his free time, Dr. Carson may need to rest, do some grading, or work on other projects.
Equipment Needed
For most speaking events, Dr. Carson will need:
- PowerPoint capabilities – He can either bring his own laptop or a thumb drive with his PowerPoint files. In any case, he would like to toggle his own slides and have a screen (even if just his laptop) in front of him to view.
- Copies made of his handouts – Please check with Dr. Carson prior to arrival to see if this is needed.
- Possibly a display table for various materials
Honorariums and Expenses
Dr. Carson does not set a fee for ministering to God’s people, although most places like to bless him with an honorable honorarium. He does request all travel to be covered for the event.
Will Dr. Carson bring his wife?
Although Dr. Carson loves to travel with his wife, due to family demands at home, usually it is not possible. Occasionally, she does travel when schedules work out. However, Mrs. Carson does not speak at events.
