It is in moments like these and others that our perspective gets challenged. God provides us with what is necessary to face these occasions.
Jesus is Our Example of How to Face Suffering
Peter points us to our true Example which provides us the necessary perspective we need.
21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. (1 Peter 2:21-25)
Jesus is our example. Jesus, Who bore our sins in His body on the cross provides our salvation. Similar to Christ, we now have the ability to live righteously. In Christ, we died to sin spiritually and now live as righteous ones.
Your Perspective as Christ’s
This is what you cannot miss – Jesus responded to life’s pressures as your example. Since you now can live righteously, when you are faced with tough decisions and unjust treatment, your perspective should reflect Jesus’ and the effect of the gospel. You can respond righteously as Christ.
