Super Tuesday. People everywhere are discussing the fact that today is Super Tuesday. Interested people watch as fellow Americans participate in primaries in 14 states today. Over 1,300 delegates are up for grabs today on the Democratic side of things.

But as I sit here and think about it, as a Christian, I quickly came up with 9 reasons why today is Super Tuesday – and none of them have anything to do with politics at all!

9 Reasons Today Is Super Tuesday

  1. God is in control (Isaiah 46:8-11; Ephesians 1:11; Proverbs 19:21; ).
  2. Jesus Christ, the One Who loves us, lives and sits at the right hand of God (Romans 8:31-39; Colossians 3:1; Psalm 110:1).
  3. The Holy Spirit guarantees our salvation and intercedes for us (Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:26-27).
  4. The Bible, God’s Word, sufficiently provides us everything we need to respond godly today (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105).
  5. As forgiven, we enjoy being in Christ (Colossians 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
  6. Although we are sinners, there is no condemnation for us; instead, there is mercy and grace (Romans 8:1; Hebrews 4:14-16).
  7. God’s grace sufficiently meets every challenge in our lives (1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
  8. God placed us in a body of people to serve and be served (Galatians 3:27-28; 5:13; 6:1-5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31).
  9. Regardless of whatever responsibilities or concerns we have, God gives us purpose for living – the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31; 2 Corinthians 5:9).

These – plus many more – are the reasons today is Super Tuesday!

Now, let’s go live in light of this wonderful truth.
