I think it would be an understatement to say we need wisdom to even know how to pray much less live.

In the past week since I last wrote, events around the nation have reminded me of what we need more than ever.

More than ever, we need Jesus.

We need the…

…love of Jesus

…compassion of Jesus

…eyes of Jesus

…voice of Jesus

…insight of Jesus

…mercy of Jesus

…commitment of Jesus

…loyalty of Jesus

…holiness of Jesus

…unity of Jesus

We Give You Jesus…

As we watch those around us as conscientious followers of Jesus Christ, we recognize the frailty of the human condition, the depravity of man, and hopelessness of life without Christ. We seek to serve those around us well in the name of Jesus Christ. We offer the two best things we can offer: Jesus and ourselves.

Jesus welcomes us as frail humanity to Him:

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

In similar ways, we invite all who have ears to hear to come to Jesus. He will forgive your sins, provide you a life of purpose, and truly change your life. He provides rest for your souls.

We Give More…

We also give of ourselves. As we seek to live like Jesus in everything that we do, we want to truly serve those around us in our community, neighborhoods, and in our homes. We experience the brokenness around us with you. We weep with those who weep, sorrow with those who sorrow, and choose to be angry and sin not.

Further, we seek to practice godliness. As followers of Christ, the best we can offer is to act like the One we follow. Part of discipleship is to carefully follow the teacher. In this instance, Jesus demonstrates the perfect combination of love of God and love of neighbor. He likewise embodies truth in love, grace in action, and mercy in compassion.

As a new week begins, we commit to speaking bold and courageous words, to embody Jesus’ mercy and compassion, and to listen well with discernment as we engage those around us.

Will you join us?
