Depleted.

As I spent some time with those who were in ministry recently, a common word seemed to frequent during our times of conversation. That word? Depleted.

You may be in a similar situation. If you are, I want to just leave you three simple reminders today.

God is near.

In the process of living life in fast gear with many responsibilities, concerns, cares, and opportunities, it may be easy to forget that God is near. God never leaves us or forsakes us. Jesus promised He would be with us always. Plus, the Holy Spirit indwells you. Friends, your first reminder is a simple one: God is near.

Draw near to your brothers and sisters-in-Christ.

God also provides you a people. When Jesus died, He made it possible to enjoy the body of Christ. I remind you what happened when you were saved. God, through the Holy Spirit, places you into the body of Christ. The entire Trinity works together to provide you a people. The blood of Jesus paid the necessary price to provide peace between you and others in the body. In the body, we are all one in Christ together. You experience that body when you enrich yourself by intentionally engaging with those in your local church. Turn to them. Talk with them. Pray with them. Care for them. Receive care from them.

The Holy Spirit empowers you.

One other reminder. Do not forget that the Holy Spirit provides you the energy to do what God wants you to do in your current circumstance. God empowers you to obey Him, to continue on, to do what is right.

So today, abound! Take the next step.

I am unsure your pressures today. But, I do know this. God helps you right now abound in Christ. God provides you the energy to take the next step toward honoring Him today, no matter what that is.

My ministry friends described an incredible sense of depletion. Possibly, you are right there with them.

Allow me to virtually come beside you, gently speak truth to you, squeeze your hand in solidarity, and pray with you.

Dear God, You know our frames of dust. You understand how weary and depleted this reader is today. And, thankfully, you are not dispassionate nor are you distant. Instead, right now, wherever this is being read, you are near. You never leave or forsake your own. You listen, care, love, and respond.

Thank you. We need the encouragement of truth today. For my brother or sister who is depleted in their soul, thank you for providing them divine energy to keep doing what is right, to take the next step, and to walk faithfully.

Thank you for providing us the body of Christ to be near us as well. I pray that my dear brother or sister would sense divine courage to reach out, intentionally engage, and receive your comfort and help through your body.

We admit that we do not know your plan; however, we rejoice that you do, in fact, have a plan. We seek to trust you with your plan as we walk with you.

In Jesus name, Amen
