As you get up and prepare for worship this day, do not miss this important on preparing for worship. Don’t forget to pray!

Pray for Your Own Soul

As you get ready for your day, pray for your own soul.

  • Ask God to provide you a sensitive heart toward hearing, receiving, and obeying truth
  • Ask God to help you worship Christ with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength
  • Ask God to help you love your neighbor as yourself
  • Ask God to provide you the eyes and sensitivity to see others with care and compassion
  • Ask God to give you the courage to reach out to others, take the first step, and seek to minister the grace of Jesus Christ to another person
  • Ask God to receive your worship as you listen, engage, respond, and participate in the worship service

Pray for Your Sunday Worship

While you pray, do not forget to pray for your worship service.

  • Ask God to grant your pastor wisdom, integrity with the text, and recognize the significance of what the text
  • Ask God to use your pastors in the power of the Holy Spirit through God’s Word to draw men to Himself
  • Ask God to work in hearts toward repentance of sin
  • Ask God to encourage people through the worship time together
  • Ask God to use each servant in the church from the greeters to the children’s workers, from the security team to ushers, from the musicians to the kitchen workers – for His glory
  • Ask God to build the faith of the followers of Jesus Christ
  • Ask God to provide encouragement for each one through His Word and His people

The Sum Effect

Our prayer together should be that God would grant us a beautiful day together in His presence with His people – whether online or in person. Be ready to hear the Word of God. Pray that God would open your eyes and heart to the significance of its meaning. Rejoice in the truth with others. And, intentionally seek to apply what you hear to your life today and this week.

Friends, you will be blessed if you seek to do these things this week as part of your day of worship.
