A friend shared a partial poem about Jesus yesterday that I wanted to share with you. I write “partial” poem because there are various versions of this one out there. The one below has been adjusted, like so many of the others. Yet, still thought-provoking, whatever the version that you read.
The idea is simple: no matter what your vocation is, Jesus is the One to follow. Here it is in a simple poem version.

Whatever Jesus calls you to, Jesus is the One to follow…
If you’re a geologist, Jesus is the Rock of Ages.
If you’re a architect, Jesus is the Firm Foundation.
If you’re a lawyer, Jesus is the Judge of the Living & the Dead.
If you’re a judge, He is the Righteous Judge.
If you’re a soldier, Jesus is the King.
If you’re a pharmacist, Jesus is the Balm of Gilead.
If you’re a doctor, Jesus is the Great Physician.
If you’re a news anchor, Jesus is the Good News.
If you’re a zoologist, Jesus is the Lion and the Lamb.
If you’re a biologist, Jesus is the Life.
If you’re an astronomer, Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star.
If you’re a pastor, Jesus is the High Priest.
If you’re a weight lifter, Jesus is the Mighty God.
If you’re a police officer, Jesus is the True and Faithful Witness.
If you’re a gardener, Jesus is the Lily of the Valley.
If you’re a horticulturist, Jesus is the True Vine.
If you’re a photographer, Jesus is the Picture of Perfection.
If you’re an English teacher, Jesus is the Eternal Word.
If you’re an educator, Jesus is the Great Teacher.
If you’re a philosopher, Jesus is True Wisdom.
If you’re a writer, Jesus is the Author of Salvation.
If you’re an artist, Jesus is the One Altogether Lovely.
If you’re a baker, Jesus is the Bread of Life.
If you’re a banker, Jesus is the Hidden Treasure.
If you’re an electrician, Jesus is the Light of the World.
If you’re a carpenter, Jesus is the Door.
If you’re an engineer, Jesus is the New and Living Way.
If you’re a musician, Jesus is the Song of the Redeemed.
If you’re an architect, Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone.
If you’re a jeweler, Jesus is the Pearl of Great Price.
If you’re a truck driver, Jesus is the Roadway to Righteousness & the Highway to Holiness.
If you’re a sinner, Jesus is the Savior.
If you’re lonely, Jesus will never leave you or forsake you.
If you’re in need of a brand new start, Jesus is the Creator of all things new.
If you’re in need of new direction, Jesus is the One to follow.
Add More to Your Version
Maybe your vocation is not on this list, then add it. Here is the reality, no matter what we do, we can get our inspiration and direction from our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.
