Fascinating Post ~ Wisdom & Encouragement to a Young Lady
In the past week, I saw a post while looking on X (formerly Twitter) from Christian writer, Summer Jaeger. To be totally honest, I do not know her, nor do I know much about her. She is one of two creators of a theologically conservative web page on theology for Christian women. I only bring her up because I want to simply interact with her X post and its answers. She wrote, “2 out of 3 of my daughters share a birthday today. If you had to give wisdom & encouragement to a young lady, what would you say?” Here is my answer and several that I cherry picked from the responses. Dads, moms, grandparents, young ladies, here is some great advice provided by the responders to her. You can check out her entire post here on X; I have simply taken the answers – in no specific order.
I am posting this to give these wonderful answers of wisdom and encouragement for young ladies to a broader audience. I hope these will be either great discussion starters or a good list for you to consider either with a or as a special young lady striving to become more like Jesus Christ.
Wisdom & Encouragement to a Young Lady (from X responders)
- Make Jesus Christ your first love. When other men come your way, check first to see if He is their first love as well. – @KevinCarson
- I was counseling a young lady last night and one of the main things we always talk about… (that I need too!): Your feelings are not a good compass to live by but rather, you must bring your feelings/emotions in line with truth. Know the truth & believe it, even when it’s hard. – @hannahascol
- You don’t need to learn life lessons the hard way. Believe that God’s Word is true, and trust the wise people who love you. – @localtouristgrl
- Learn physical skills NOW while you can fall easily 😆 (i.e. skating, skateboarding, etc.) – @localtouristgrl
- “Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, & wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart” (1 Peter 3) Listen to your godly parents/grandparents who the Lord sovereignly has given you to love, protect & teach you! – @gigisewingroom1
- Trust the Lord, no matter what comes your way. Look to Him, trust His wisdom and truth in His word, and your feet will not stumble ❤️ Also, your mother and father do know a lot more than you think, trust their love and wisdom as well. – @PotluckLauren

- Find a man whose trust is in the Lord. They’re not going to be perfect but they’ll be better than the alternative, no matter how rich they may be. – @HGGamer934
- Run after Jesus, study and memorize His Word so you know your Shepherd’s voice and so you won’t be deceived. honor your father as your covering until marriage, learn the skills to serve your home and family even while you’re young. & know that your Creator calls your [sic] beautiful! – @GraceKraemer

- Jesus is worth it. Pain and discomfort are necessary for growth and healing. Preach truth to yourself and don’t let lies comfort you. Hug your mama, and spend time with her no matter what your age or how weird or quirky she is. There is no hug like a mama hug, and I miss it daily – @SydBrii

- Something I have constantly repeated to my children is “everything is for our good and His glory”. It’s good to have that ingrained into you for the difficult times. It has really helped me to see the blessings in the pain and with gratitude. – @amandarschaffer
- Have a vision for your future. Decide what attributes your husband will have and start looking for him as early as you can. You can be a mother and something else on the side, it isn’t a trade-off. – @nateason12
