Don’t miss what God is doing! Look around you today and notice how God works, what He does, and where He does it. If you open your eyes today and pay attention to what is around you, God has something special for you today. Begin with the world around you. Look to the sky, at the trees, at the grass. Listen to the birds, feel the wind, and consider the weather.

Notice these verses from Psalm 95:

For the Lord is a great God,
a great king who is superior to all gods.
The depths of the earth are in his hand,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it.
His hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down and worship.
Let us kneel before the Lord, our Creator.

As you look around your world today – which is His world, take a moment to embrace what God made, how big He is, and how He is worthy of praise. The rest of Psalm 95 follows this paragraph. You would be well served to read through it. As the psalmist suggests, take a moment to consider the critical mistake Israel made. Instead, use all your senses to seek to live in the moment with God today.

Psalm 95

1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
The heights of the hills are His also.
The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture,
And the sheep of His hand.

Today, if you will hear His voice:
“Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion,
As in the day of trial in the wilderness,
When your fathers tested Me;
They tried Me, though they saw My work.
10 For forty years I was grieved with that generation,
And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,
And they do not know My ways.’
11 So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

Don’t Miss What God Is Doing!

God creates. He holds the world together. In fact, He actively holds your world together.

God works for you. His work is good. You may not be able to see all He does in this moment, but He works. Let us kneel before God our maker in worship as we long for the future day when the new earth will praise Him.

Between now and then, don’t miss what God is doing! He actively works. The heavens, earth, and animals around you remind you.
